To make structure-based models (SBMs) more accessible, in 2008 we released the smog-server webtool. This tool allows one to provide a PDB file and then generate the force field files needed to run a simulation in Gromacs. Since then, this resource has grown to include tutorials and additional software. As of 2024, the webtool has been used to generate over 30,000 models by the broader research community.
While we still maintain the webtool, we recommend that you consider using SMOG 2 and OpenSMOG when performing simulations with SBMs. These newer tools allow for a large level of customization and control of your models.
